Subgrid problem

Nov 25, 2011 at 10:39 AM

Hello,

I am having a couple of problems using the subgrid

First problem is that [HiddenInput] annotated columns show up in the subgrid but not in the grid.

Second problem is when the Id of the grid has a space in it it does not display any subgrid data. It fetches the data correctly but fails to show them. I have solved this problem by removing all spaces I am just alerting you to the fact.

Finally is there a way to set the width of the subgrid to auto? It is rendered very wide resulting in horizontal scrollbars.

Thank you.

Hi

Subgrid, as you can read in jqGrid documentation
(http://www.trirand.com/jqgridwiki/doku.php?id=wiki:subgrid), is very
limited and most of DataAnnotations has no effect there (in general
you can only set the width and aligment of column). The "Subgrid as
Grid" functionality (which is a work around to use fully futured grid
as subgrid) is planned for one of next releases.

It's good that you have fixed those Id's, jqGrid is using them for
HTML id attribute and spaces are not allowed characters there (this
isn't something that helper can/should work around) - that is what is
causing your problems.

Once again jqGrid has no option for that, the only thing you can
control are widths of cells.

Thank you for your quick answer. Do you have any idea when "Subgrid as Grid" is coming out?

Hi,

This task is already in Issue Tracker and I'm working on it. Unfortunatelly the resources I can put into this project are limited so I can't give any specific date here, I'm hoping to get this done soon as it is often requested functionality.
